My Stroke Journey is a free stroke survivor and caregiver support group that meets the third Tuesday of every month.
When a patient has a stroke, it is life changing, not only for the patient but also the family. Every stroke patient goes through a unique and challenging journey
Sevaro wants to be there for them throughout their stroke journey.
As vascular neurologists, we understand the most important part of a stroke patient’s recovery begins after they leave the hospital. Unfortunately, most stroke survivors have limited access to the resources they need to have a meaningful recovery – this is why Sevaro started My Stroke Journey, a support program for stroke patients.
Sevaro’s My Stroke Journey support program is a monthly, recurring virtual meeting for patients and their caregivers.
Our team of neurologists, educational staff, therapists and mental health counselors work to bring stroke survivors together to support each other. Typical meetings touch on the emotional and physical impact strokes have on patients, how to cope with the new normal and provide a level of compassionate motivation. This is free to attend for all patients.
My Stroke Journey meetings are led by Sevaro’s Stroke Ambassador, Pete Smith. Pete suffered a stroke at age 35 which altered his view and approach to life. Pete speaks to audiences to share his lessons learned to motivate others as they navigate through their new normal to live a more productive life – post-stroke
